Removing flywheel

I have two ariens snow blowers. Trying to make one good one out of two. The one that is in better shape has a cracked flywheel. So I'm trying to take the flywheel off of the other one to put on the better one . In short I'm trying to take the flywheel off I already took the shroud and all fasteners off but the flywheel wont come . I tried squirting penetrating oil in there and prying on it buty it still wont come I don't have a gear puller big enough for it. Any help is appreciated.

Does the flywheel have 2 threaded holes in it beside the engine shaft ? If so use a strap with 2 matching holes and a couple of bolts to pull it off there.
the unofficial way (dangerous) way is to pry up under the edge of the flywheel while tapping on the end of the shaft.
Can break things this way or mess up the threads on the end of the shaft.
I just use a big el cheapo 3 jawed puller from HF.

There are flywheel pulling tools made specifically for this job to remove them without damage. From a small engine shop you can either buy one, or they might be nice and let you borrow one or pull your flywheel off for free if you bring the engine over. It pays to make friends with your local small engine guy when you don't want to buy special tools or need free advice

it sounds like the motor you are taking the flywheel off of isn't
all that great, and if it isn't anything you need to worry about, wedge
some larger screwdrivers under the flywheel, tap them in so there is
pressure on the flywheel,,, and using either a piece of brass or leaving the nut on the crankshaft, hit the crank with a hammer, and the flywheel should
pop right off. As slowrev said, be careful, they can pop off pretty good.
