Ok....I'm back in business........one thing I did notice by having the studs in the wheel hub.....it makes it much more difficult to tighten the wheel nut with a standard wrench.......would be much easier with a socket. Having the studs on the hub does make installing the tires much easier now.......trying to prop the tires up while lining the holes up to insert the bolt was always good for some choice words.

I will make a point of checking the tire bolts regularly as I don't want to have to go through this again........Jack

I made a couple of studs ( bolts with head cut off) that I put in, then put the wheel on, and then put bolts in the other holes. Then I pull the studs and put in the remaining bolts.

Thanks, just a lazy generated idea.

When you heat the hub, you don't want to heat the center any more than you have to. You want the outside part to expand and the inside part to not expand. Of course if there is a glue you might want to destroy that with heat.

Yup I had thought about that as I started up the torch.....didn't want everything to expand so I only ran the flame around the outside of the hub and sprocket wheel. Didn't take much before I got it to pop..........Jack
