Removing hydraulic cylinders on my New Holland 575 E backhoe

I could sure use some advice folks. I have rented backhoes many times and finally bought one, a 1995 New Holland 575 E. Sadly within a month the loader bucket cylinders started leaking. I have the 900 + page shop manual, but it does not show how to actually remove the large snap rings, or what appears to be ring covers over retaining pins that must be driven out in order to remove the large pins holding in the cylinders. I've been searching the internet extensively for days and every site and video I come across skips all these early steps and only shows the later stages of cylinder removal.

For the ones like in this picture you can work the cover ring off with a couple of small screwdrivers and drive the pin out with a pin punch.

For the clips with two sharp points you will want a pair of spreader pliers. ExpandingPliers.com - Pliers that expand and grab on the inside.

Some advice ... Get a set of plugs and caps for your hydraulics. As you take a line off, cap & plug the ends. The $20-30 for a set is worth the freedom from leaking oil and keeps the ends clean. You don't want any dirt in a hydraulic system. That will cost you sooner or later. Just remember to tell the hydraulic shop resealing the cylinders, you want the caps/plugs back
