My woods are being taken over by jap barberry. My forester wants me to work on removal. Is there a good tractor implement for this?
Would a loader grapple work?

Uprooting the material was listed as one of the time intensive approaches compared to mowing/spraying in the report I linked. Like anything, you'd have to assess how much time /money each approach will actually take for you relative to the amount of barberry you need to remove.
If you choose uprooting, the least expensive starting point could be getting about 10 inches of 2" pipe to make one of these to use as a puller with a chain attached to the drawbar. Front-End Loader - Danuser Intimdator
