Perkins powered 231S. I need to remove the starter for service and rebuild. Does anybody have a exploded view of the starter motor mounting fastener details? I can't see behind the starter to determine what to loosen.

Thank you in advance.

No loader. It appears that there are three fasteners with the rear innermost one protruding out past the starter case at the solenoid end. The other two are nuts accessible with an open end wrench. But, I want to be sure in case I need some special tool.

Also, I tried removing the rusty steering wheel nut with an impact wrench. Didn't budge. The nut is now completely round. Any thoughts on steering wheel removal?

I have a 2001 231s with a loader and I had to replace the starter. It was a nightmare with the loader frame in the way. There were 3 bolts holding the starter on. 2 on the outside that you mentioned and one just like those two is on the back side of the starter. It is a pain to get to. I used a socket and a universal joint and a couple extensions put together to get the ratchet out past the end of the starter. It was a pain but I finally got it out.

Yes, made in turkey as well. I bought mine used and the steering wheel center cover was missing. It was rusty in there. I tried to remove the nut to clean it all up. I couldn't budge it so I gave up on it. I didn't really need to take it off I just wanted to. I sprayed alot of penetrating oil in there and ordered a new cover for it from a dealer. My hope was that if I ever had to take it off, the penetrating oil might help.

KROIL works far better than most other penetrating oil>
