Dirtlover,
I also have several rental properties and own 6 pieces of Kubota equipment for general maintenance chores.
I previously owned a
B21 TLB and traded it for a
L35 TLB because the machine was just too small for the duties you described in your post.
The
L35 is one great machine!! It has never failed me for any task I needed to do. The reason I chose the
L35 because it was powerful enough to do anything i needed and still small enough to tow behind my 1/2 ton F150 pickup truck. The max I can comfortably tow with my truck is about 8000 lbs (6000 lbs for the
L35 TLB and 2000 lbs for the trailer).
After saying all these great things about the
L35, I went and purchased a new Kubota KX61 mini-excavator. Once you start using these excavators you will never want to use a TLB again. I love this machine. Since purchasing the excavator the
L35 has been used only for loader work.
I also find myself using the excavator for typical chores you would typically use a loader.
If you only want one machine the
L35 is a great choice. Also, you may want to consider the new
L39 TLB (replacing the
L35) coming out in January 2005. The machine is sized between the
L35 and
L48 that is priced near the
L35 price. It looks almost exactly like the John Deere 110 TLB.
If I were in the market looking for a new TLB, I would wait for the new
L39
Good luck,
Jon
