here goes, tractor was running fine, all day long, long day. While I was off the tractor attaching a chain (brake on) it started to make a loud clicking noise. Thought it was the fan belt as the noise was coming from the front of the engine. As I looked it suddenly changed noises and started backfirining through the intake manifold. Shut it down. Pulled the valve cover and the #1 cylinder, #1 valve, the one furthest forward rocker arm was broken, valve is frozen. I'm getting ready to pull the head. The manual has disappeared, for all the use it really was. Anyway, anyone know where to get the manual or does anyone have the specs. on valve lash, torque, etc. This is my fault,I kept saying to myself I'll get to that oil tomorrow. What came out was black, thick and really embarassing and I'm gonna pay the price. Last little bit, where do I buy parts. I'm in Reno Nevada but of course the internet is nation wide. Thanks, Franz

I'm sure one of the member dealers have a manual available.
You might want to add for what kind of tractor, model and year.

It may not entirely be your fault. I have seen instances where the valve was so coked up it wouldn't close completely and got slapped by the piston a few times before it broke off the stem and embedded itself edgewise in the piston crown.
Hopefully there is no crankshaft or cylinder head damage. It would do well to mic the con rod bearing and crank throw, and check the con rod for straightness.

can't believe I left out the brand and model. Shows how happy I was when I posted.
the tractor is a Farmpro 2425 4WD. By the way, I hear the farmpro is a Jimma (jimna?) knock off. If so, what is the Jimma twin. Thanks. franz

Fixed! a little break free, a slight tap and the valve moved nicely. Didn't even have to take the head off. BTW the valve was the #1 Exhaust valve and it was stuck closed, not open, which makes more sense anyway. a valve stuck open wouldn't break the rocker arm, it would make a **** of a noise as the push rod racketed in it's hole, but it shouldn't break the rocker arm.

changed the oil twice and ran for a solid five hours making fire breaks. Next is the dropping 3 point but I'll get back to you on that one.

Special thanks to Tommy and the crew at affordable tractors, your help was invaluable.
