My tires were slimed about 3-4 years ago for small leaks. I no longer get a "puff" of slime anymore when I check the tire pressures and one tire has now resumed a slow leak. Is it safe to re-slime? And what kind of mess does it make if ultimately the tire has to be fixed by dismounting and fixing the tube?

If it comes to that most probably they would just replace the tube entirely...but in a TUBELESS tire...Im told its a definate NO-NO and that a vulcanized patch wont stick properly. Tire places here wont even attempt to patch a tubless if its had that stuff inside

The tire has a tube. Does that make a difference? I am so tempted just to slime it again?

The fibrous content breaks up and the stuf becomes less effective - reslime it. Even tubeless can be patched with cleanup and buffing of the inner liner to expose new rubber. A plug with a head on the inside end is also quite effective for tubeless with slime.

There are two types of slime one for tubless and one for tubes. In any case it needs to be replenished after time. i just add more every time one lossess air.

Do you think that maybe the reason they wont try and patch a tire that has had slime is because they are trying to make people think you cant do it after it has been slimed. Slime has cut into the tire repair buisness quite a bit I would imagine.

Not a chance. Tire places and garages don't make hardly anything on tire repairs if the tire has to be dismounted from the rim. They just make a lot less if they have to clean and buff the tire AND clean out a bunch of slime or fix a flat, not to mention the smell of the stuff when it spills out on your clothes and needing to take the time to mop up what spills onto the floor too. Ask me how I know.

Slime has better marketing, but True Goo has better results. At least for me, it's true.

Now, can I mix True Goo with Slime?
