Well, the 10yo Murray Pro 46" I was using finally got to the point I smelled like a refinery after I was done mowing, along with a lot of other things needed to be fixed. Solution, replaced with a new GT2550. One very nice machine. Got the bagger and sleeve hitch with (where are those implements...). Much more maneuverable and quicker.
Been lurking here for quite a while...reading the opinions of those who have gone before...and the Cub turned out to be the best for the money. Thanks a bunch to all.

No dought the 2550 will be a huge upgrade! The 2500 series offer a lot for the money. Post pics when you get a chance!

Good luck with the new machine!

Amontilado?

If I may ask, how much did the Sleeve Hitch cost?

Thanks!

Just a reminder. Check the wiring going to headlamp, make sure that they're not too close to the muffle heat shield. If they are too close they will short out, blow a fuse. I rerouted mine best I could, no problems so far. I caught mine in time and avoided problem that some owner's have encountered. Just make sure they are as far away from heat shield as possible. Also keep eye on the PTO wire harness, I've heard they sometimes short out.

All,
Been bouncing in and out when I can. I checked the headlight wiring and it's held back off the muffler shield by a tie going to the base of the hood hinge(if my memory searves me correctly at this time of the night). Haven't observed any melting of the wiring insulation at this time. I do want to try and insulate/tie back as much as I can the pto wiring; it runs too close to too much hot metal for my comfort.

The sleeve hitch wasn't cheap, paid list of $959(off the top of my head), but it was complete, heavily built, and easy to put on and remove(as is the bagger for that matter).

So far, I love this machine, as compared to the old Murray I was using. Much easier to maneuver around things, though found I'm going to have to do some trimming back of some trees/bushes, have scratched the one side, unforetunately getting too close to some bushes. It also is much quicker, since I don't have to fiddle with a manual shift or belt slippage.

A few things I don't like are 1., the seat suspension needs some help with my larger frame;t oo much bouncing, and 2. the cup holder is too small. I use old pop bottles filled 1/3 of the way with water, then freeze. Keeps the water cold when mowing.
