Don't confuse these LED's with standard issue LED's like you find soldered to circuit boards on consumer electronics. The Trilliant lamps use high output surface mount LED's which have many times more output compared to a standard LED.

There's no confusion. I've seen these for just over $3 each. The Trilliants for $8.
