Hi Alan! Although a lot of people view its residents as big city liberals, we all are not. This year and last we've had more than our share of rain along the southern tier of New York. We can't even get onto our grounds to work. We seem to get a couple days of sun and then a couple days of rain week after week. Thanks for your response!

I think your thread got derailed by the wager. Anyway, I'm courious as to how your Titans didn't hold up to brush hogging.

Those brand new Titans were put on my John Deere 2030 that I now use for bush hogging. The tires were loaded and the weight of the tractor would puncture the tires when I drove over cut brush stubble from a previous pass. It did it twice before I decided that I can't afford the repairs and sprung for the expensive PrimeX tires with steel belts. Never a problem again! Oh, by the way, I had similar problems with the front tires and I decided to go with the repurposed aircraft tires and new rims to accommodate their 18" rims. They've also held up well. Two good choices that I've never regretted, and they're still in use today - No Problems! (Just as a note: The PrimeX tires are loaded too!)

Have you had any luck finding a heavy ply tire for your tractor?
We have had decent luck with the Titans, but ours is mainly hay and corn use, with just a bit of brush hogging thrown in.

Just a thought we never sharpen our brush hog blades they are quite rounded as such the beat and break the brush stubs which leaves very few sharp stubs, most are shattered and splintered.

I do like the aircraft tires till they need to be repaired even with the two piece bolt together rims they are a pain.

Same here on never sharpening my blades. Might as well be swinging baseball bats they are so rounded. The cut tops of brush are mushroom in shape. This is if they are green. Dry dead brush can create some pungie sticks though.

John_NY, are the tires you inquired about going on the L305DT? I think the size that fits that tractor is 13.6x24 unless you have larger tires on the front also.
