My model 60 mower deck on the 755 has finally rusted through. With holes on the deck dirt and grass got sucked up, pack under the shields and the belts come off the pulleys.

There is no new deck that the 755 can use. I don't think it has enough HP to run a 3 point hitch grooming mower satisfactorily. I asked the parts guy how much a replacement shell costs, $1855. Only 11 shells left in America. I don't know what others parts to bring it up to snuff would cost, pulleys gearbox etc. So I figure its time to give it up. My brother wants the 755 just for the bucket, so, what do I replace it with?

I have a 3520 cab, but I won't use it mowing in the ditch. I was talking to the dealer about a used X748 with deck, long walk out to the shed, find out its sold. Got a quote on a used 2320, someone wants it bad, while I'm thinking about the quote. So I told him sell it. The dealer has a 2305, but it doesn't quite match up to the 755 or 2320. I have a rotary cutter, tiller and rear blade, and it justs seems too small. There is a new 2520 on the lot, the configurator says $18,179 with a 62D mower deck. The dealer gave a price of $267 on independent lift. The 3520 has a FEL, so I don't need that right away. So what are 2520s with 62Ds selling for in October? Is there a fall sale coming up. 0 percent for 48 months makes this upgrade over what I wanted to spend somewhat acceptable. I asked the dealer to give me a quote.

Or should I just go with a cheaper gasoline (cough) zero turn mower or in stock gasoline (cough) X729? Not that these are bad, just not diesel. Or should I let the ditch go unmowed until spring and new Deere models come out?

I can't answer your questions, but was just curious. Are you saying the engine is worn out and not producing much horsepower? The factory rates it for a 72 inch RFM. Have you done a search for a used 60 inch MMM?

You have got 3520 and apparently you want to add a baby brother.

I do like 2x20 series and I wouldn't discourage you from those. Beyond those, have you considered a 3032e.?? That would handle a good sized rear grooming mower. I would think that would be a pleasure on the 3032e. It's a powerful hydro without many bells and whisltes....but, you got that beautiful 3520 for those goodies. The 3032e has 25ptohp for not a lot of money.

Just a thought.

I won't even mention the gear 3005.:licking:

On Machine Finder, I found a place north of Quebec that had a used 60 deck for the 755. They want 1255.00. I don't know how I would get it across the border without some paperwork. Seems like a long trip to get it.

The 755 runs, buit it doesn't have the power it used to. Just old age and and my opinion.

Like I said, my brother wants it for the bucket.

If I get a quote on the 2520 I'll get a better feeling for the next step.

I haven't considered 3032e before, the horsepower, price is right, but no MMM. I didn't see one in stock at the dealer. The way I cut my ditch, an MMM works best. I have the 272 rear mower deck for the 3520, and it is a pleasure mowing most of what I have to mow with it, but not the ditch. I don't want to risk going over in it and smashing the cab and me.

Since you are looking at used, don't forget the 4100's and 4110's. Either would handle your mower needs nicely.

Before I found my second hand 2520 with 1 hour on it, I was looking at new and had quotes from 3 dealers. I had quote of $20,679, $18450 and $19,910; all these quotes included a 200cx loader w/61" bucket, ballast box and the 62D mower. I think your dealer is a little high at $18k for just the tractor and mower, but it may just be because of the additional components they were able to add discounts for me?

Not sure what kinda mowing you are doing...but it seems that mowing falls into a couple of camps lately.

1. LGT Mowing - the Lawn/Garden Tractor Crowd W/ mower

2. CUT & SCUT Mowing - The Compact Utility Tractor and SCUT Sub Comact Utility Tractor....w/ mower

3. ZTR Mowing - Zero Turn Radius Mowers.

The last one ZTR's has not yet been said....but if you have lots of trees and obstacles to navigate around....these seem to be the ticket. Some of the new models are pretty reliable....from what I have heard.

I just went and re-read your first post.....you already knew all of the above choices.......never mind. (grin)

this is in a totally different direction, but what about a walk behind mower with stand on platform. a hydro or belt model with powered revers are farily easy to use and mow fairly quick this depends how big your ditch is ,,,, but i think you can get a brand new one for 6-7k ish for a deere 54 inch hydro

at work i normally mow 45 ih degree slopes and they will slide before flipping
they is a learning curve to run these so dont start on a hill and go from the bottom up not top down

There is a 60" deck listed on eBay now, and it's located in Indiana.

Looks like it could be a good deal if kude can do the pickup. The missing parts are ones that would easily transfer from the old deck.
