Replacing a clawfoot tub/shower with what?

I'd put in a low step over shower large enough for a bench, chair or a care giver.
That's what we did when we remodeled our bathroom. We would have liked a new tub, but the space was too small for standard sized ones, so we went with as large a shower as we could fit.
we like glass doors - easier to clean than curtains.
My wife would beg to differ with you on that. She HATES glass doors, says they're miserable to clean, getting all the crud/soapscum/etc out of the tracks, etc. Curtains, take 'em down, throw 'em in the washer and done.

So, i guess that depends on how clean one wants to be. My wife complains about the galss shower too. But she complains more about the tub with the curtains upstairs. It takes her more time to take the curtains down, wash them, dry them, hang them, than it takes her to wipe the glass.

I'm picturing myself at 90 or so sitting in a gasketed tub showering with a hand-held 'snake' vs filling it with water. The low entry height appeals vs a std tub.
