I had a compression issue in my old T5000 and after trying many tricks to release rings and clear valves etc, with no luck, we had no option left than to take off the head. What we found was a very worn set of cylinder sleeves and a cracked valve - no special oil mixture down the glow plug holes was going to fix those issues.
What I would like to know is if anyone has been able to remove the pistons and then replace the cylinder sleeves without splitting the tractor and by removing only the sump base plate?
Really hoping not to have this turn into a major project (well anymore major than it currently is!)
