replacing hst transmission fluid

I did a 50hr service on a B7510 and had a question come up re: the transmission fluid. I opened all 3 drain plugs and removed both filters and cleaned out the screen. pretty sure all the fluid drained out however, when i filled her back up i stopped at 3.5gals to check the level (manual says that capcity should be 4gals) and the guage showed overfilled. if it matters I also have a fel but dropped it off b/4 i did the maintenance. ran the tractor afterwards a little and hooked up the fel but no change in the transmission fluid level. Will leaving it overfull cause a problem? noticed another forum thread that some types have an overflow value. any help appreciated

I have never had a HST but I have also never had anything "burn up" from being a little overfull. You didn't state how overfull it was, but if it is only a pint or so I don't think it will hurt. But that is just my opinion. What about the rest of y'all?

regarding the amount overfilled, it's hard to say for sure. on the dipstick the distance from the low to full marks appear to be 3/4" and the fluid level appears to be another 3/4" over the full mark

I know on my B7300 I had it held a little less than the recommended amount upon refill. I don't know about these trannys, but, in automotive trannys overfilling can cause foaming and can be a problem down the road. I would suggest either draining a little at a time out of one of the plugs or taking the filter off and dumping it a time or two until you get to the proper amount. Either way, once you drain some, crank it and run it through the motions before killing it and checking the fluid again.

Im thinking of "overfilling" my Kioti CK30HST by a half quart or so on its 50 hour service---It seems they have a bit of a propensity to get a bit of chatter in the steering/ hydraulics if you operate them on steeper inclines as I do---possibly a frothing/aeration issue. I would do this in attempt to keep the pickup submersed.
It returns to total normal after getting on the flat ground and have heard this from other Kioti owners.
