I posted nearly 2 years ago on my problem losing water due to combustion gases entering radiator, then going out the overflow. Ive nursed it along but may do something before too long. My question is, if I drive the old liners out (inframe) and buy new piston/liner set, is there much chance of success sealing the new liners in a 40 year old block? Ive been told i must set it up in a boring mill, take a skin cut on the top face, then recut the counterbore for the liner and use a brass shim so the liner protrudes about .006 thou. Hope that makes sense. My goal is to do as little as possible but have a second string tractor for utility.
