I have a 64 ford 2000 industrial with the 134 gas engine what diesel engine will fit and how much of a problem will it be.
Aren't there other problems than just physically matching them up? I'm guessing here without running the numbers, but isn't the operating rpm range on a diesel a lot different than the gas?Hi. welcome.
You will have to solve transitioning from the engine to the trans. Diesels are configured differently. Engine mounts will have to be repositioned.
As MMagis states look at changing tractors.
Technically, couldn't he use his same block, crank, and rods, trash the dizzy, camshaft, pistons and the cylinder head, install a set of diesel pistons, the diesel cam, head, injection pump and lines and have a diesel 2000? It would be mad work. You'd also need manifolds and the diesel starter.
Nothing in that setup was built to handle a diesel. That is a horrible idea. Not to mention you spend a bunch of money to trash a good motor.Technically, couldn't he use his same block, crank, and rods, trash the dizzy, camshaft, pistons and the cylinder head, install a set of diesel pistons, the diesel cam, head, injection pump and lines and have a diesel 2000?
