Sorry if I posted this before, I though I did but cannot find it.

My 1735M loader was stuck all the way up and I could not bring it down. My service manager told me it was most likely the hydraulic connections. I looked at them and 1 did appear to come undone. After looking at them in more detail, I had 2 pins (On the tractor side fittings) that were not centered. He told me I will have to replace the couplers because once they do this they will always act up. He said I may have shocked the hydraulic system for the loader or bounced it. Has anyone had this happen and have to replace them? If so, was if a big job? Thanks

No it's not bad. A good pair of snap ring pliers and a decent set of wrenches will get you by. Usually I see this happen when a stick pops up or when you turn sharp and the lines catch on the tire. If a male connector is scratched on the side, replace it. Also check if the female connector's oring and backup ring are in good shape. You can locally source an oring or replace the connector.

Thanks for your reply. I am not sure what you mean by scratched on the side, do you mean the side of the nipple? He said he would give me 4 new female couplings, I hope this will satisfy to O ring replacement. One of my problems is my loader is still in the air and I cannot press in on the male nipple enough to get all the hydraulics out to lower it. I am hoping when I connect the hoses back up with the new couplers it will work properly and I can lower it. I guess I could break some fitting and drain the Hydraulics in the lines, but that may get messy. Thanks.

Yes, have a bucket handy and slowly remove the coupler that has the oil trapped in the cylinders. Your loader will come down, so play it safe. You can even use some boards as a makeshift jackstand so you don't lose a lot of oil.

As far as scratching on the male end, pay attention to the side of the tip where the orings seal. If it it scratched, it will leak. If need be, I can clarify with some pictures later today when I get to work.

From my fingernail down is the area of concern. KIMG0059.JPG

If your bucket is stuck in the up position, you have a lot of pressure on the hydraulic connection preventing you from removing it or reconnecting it.

Get a floor jack and a 2X4 and raise the bucket up about 2 inches, then the coupling will release.

Yes, thank you. I ended up pushing my bucket up against a tree to relieve the pressure. Dealer gave me all 8 new hydraulic fittings, 4 on tractor and the 4 on the loader. I replaced them all. I had two of the female ones on the tractor with the nipples way off center, so it wasn't allowing flow through those lines.
