Cub Cadet 1450 hydrostatic
Thanks to some good advice from this forum, I discovered that the safety switch operating spring (ssos) was broken in half causing the cub cadet 1450 to not work at all. I've found the part online, so I know that I can replace it. I just have one question.

There is a pin that goes through a hole in the ssos. It looks like the ssos would just slide over the pin and clamp onto the bar. Is that correct? I don't think I could get the pin out, not to mention that it's not on any parts diagrams.

Thanks,

Cubby when I saw how rusted and unprotected that switch area was after only 2 years use I just by-passed the safety switch. Now the tractor starts when we just turn the key over.

I didn't want to recommend that cause that's the present culture lawyers put us in. I kind of figured, like me, by the time you got down there and put the right 2 wire together so the tractor started you'll come to the same conclusion.

As long as you got the switch you may as well use it. IIRC the pin is there so the switch is dead nut correct...break pedal depression wise. Too much pedal and the switch dies prematurely from crushing. Take your time and hose the area down with PB blaster so you save that pin and delicate housing area.
