Hi,
I lost my compressor on my B3030 and after pricing at the dealer want to get an aftermarket on. A friend is setup to install this for me but says I need to know how much oil to put in it. He says he can charge it but needs to load it with oil first. Does anyone know the answer to this question?

thanks,
Bake

The replacement compressor should have instructions included with it & should tell you how much PAG oil to put in. I'd check with NAPA for a remanufactured compressor. Take your old one with you so they can get the numbers off it. Also don't forget to flush &/or vacuum the entire system to get rid of any metal filings, etc. from the old compressor. Replace the accumulator too.

The last one I replaced only had a very small amount in it for assembly purposes. I had to buy my PAG oil seperately. This was a remanufactured one from NAPA.

i replaced a compressor before and it should have enough oil in it to get you through the recharge process.

I wouldn't bet on that. The last one I got was shipped "dry", meaning the only oil in it was from assembling it. The OP needs to read the directions that come with the compressor he purchases and go from there. I forget how much oil I had to add.

Having a B3030 myself with ac, I was wondering how many hours were on that compressor before it croaked? And did you use it a lot?
