Replacing the crappy radio in my 2004 DK50

Can someone tell me what the wire colors are going to the plug on the back of the old radio. I need:

Hot
Ground
Acc (if it has it)

There are 3 different wire connectors on the back of it, with what looks like a bunch of un-necessary wires.


So I know which wires to hook up.

Why not just meter them out on the connector side?
Hot = 12v+ present all the time. (For clock and/or channel memory)
Ground = Ground (12v negative)
Acc = 12v+ present only when the key is On. (For radio operation)

Another may be for the radio face light. It should meter 12v+ when the lights are on.

It's not that complicated. Other wires may be used to control power antenna, output for speakers and depending on the complexity of the radio; Audio amp, MP3 input, AV input, USB, etc. For a tractor radio, I can't see needing more than power and speakers. What are you replacing?

It's been a few weeks but when I worked on a buddies dk45 I had to install a new stereo and replace his old factory speakers, one plug had four wires , maybe green and gray, those were the two speakers, then one plug had a single wire maybe yellow? It's the acc wire (key hot ) then the last connector was the ground and batt hot. Hope this helps, you could also remove the top and see all your wiring, makes hooking up the lots and stuff easy.

I tried that.... I'm not sure how to set the voltmeter up, but I tried it on a bunch of settings, sticking the black multimeter wire into the black wire coming from the loom. I know which are the speaker wires, so that leaves one connector with one green wire, and another connector with a same color green, a brown and a black wire that I am assuming it a ground. With the key both on and off, I couldn't see any voltage on any of the wires. I guess I should have stuck the ground probe into the brown wire to see if it was a ground, but I just "know" that black is "always" ground- anyways, it just got dark on me with a storm pushing in, so I had to quit on it tonight. Any guesses on what is what? The radio I am taking out is a stock radio that came with it. I listen to my ipod all the time and I thought a cheap radio with bluetooth would be good. Amazon gave the new radio great ratings, check it out on amazon: Kidcia VE1001-B AR for $27 and 2 speakers Boss Audio P45.4C Phantom 4" speakers for another $18 (I'm a big spender)- both got great reviews. Heck, for $40 I'll give it a try.

It just dawned on me to look at the radio I took out, and sure enough.... on the case it has the wire code.......duh.... sorry about that, gang... on to more important things....

I'm an old dog who is slow to learn new tricks. When I ordered the radio, I saw that it was Din 1, and I thought that it meant that it didn't have the wiring harness conversion.... upon looking it up (and getting the radio) I come to learn that DIN means the size of the radio. This one is a bit smaller than the original, so I had to get out the sheet metal to make a custom mount so it wouldn't slide around in the hole left by the radio I removed. The new radio only came with it's own wire clips on one side and bare wires on the other.

I had my CK2510 delivered withi a dealer add oni cab. It's realliy not a bad cab at all and looks cool. I bought one of those $50 special radios for music and weather right from Walmart.com I believe the cab was wired with a couple front speakers and when I pullled thie radio plug out of headliner I found it even had a plug.......but it did not fit the radio of course. This proved no problem.

We just snipped the plug and tested wire by wire for t:cool2:he connection. Don't bother trying to get thie stereo connection. Tony Soprano might say "Fuh get about it". Reason, those cabs are not really quiet enoughi to play stereo even if you blast it. That cheap Walmart radio has facilities for external connections like "I" phones and even USB as well as mini discs full of mp3's. That snow doesn't get blown outta my drive............it's melted by those hot tunes.

Finally got it installed. It just boiled down to testing the wires as I put them in. I knew which wires went to the speakers, so that was half the problem. I figrued it out after putting it together and taking it apart a few times. Having a blown fuse didn't help. But it is up and running now, so now I have to put all the pieces back together in the roof so I can put the shell down. Thanks for the help.

I believe the kioti uses an older Isuzu (car) wiring harness.

No worries... I butchered it up with black electricians tape. Works great.... Doesn't quite sound like a concert hall, but its better than nothing.
