I need instruction on how to do this. I thot their was a thread but I couldnt find it. Can I use the generator pulley? Where do I hook the 1 wire coming off the alternator? I assume I dont need the regulator. Its already changed over to 12 volt. What ever else I need to know would be helpful. Thankyou. Sill new at this but learned a lot fixing and repairing this old tractor

Pulley size matters, because you want the alternator to operate in the correct RPM range.
I'm not sure which wire you're talking about without knowing the make/model of alternator.
You most definitely will need to use a regulator (assuming the alternator doesn't have one already built in). Alternators produce voltages much higher than 12V. The regulator is needed to keep it at 12V output to the rest of the system.

Ok that was clear enough in hooking up the wires. Now how about do I need a new bracket for the alternator or can I use the existing generator bracket? What about the pulley. Can I use the one off the generator?
