Hi! I recently rescued a 53 NAA from a neighbors pasture. Locked up tight and had been sitting for years. Got it running in a couple of hours, changed all the fluids but still have a problem. Milky looking oil is leaking from an inspection plate in the right side in front of the bell housing. Looks like an inspection hole for the flywheel? Any ideas?

Photo of the location helps (actually, people just want to look at the photos :)).

So what's the first thing you did with a tractor that is "locked up"??? There are 2 tractors around us that have been in the fields for a year now... Just wondering what it takes to get them moving again...

I' ll post some pics up later...

I filled the cylinders with atf and diesel fuel, after spraying PB Blaster in them. Let it sit for a day or two. Engaged the PTO then put a pipe wrench with cheater bar on it. Put a little pressure on it and Presto! Turned right over... One carb kit, some fresh gas and a new battery and she's off and running!

Love these old tractors! Now if I can figure out where the flywheel is picking up this old milky oil, I'll be in business...

I think that inspection hole may be where you can see the timing marks on the fly wheel.
Don't know about the milky fluid. Pictures might help.

Have you changed all the fluids? Just thinking if not then maybe the tranny has water in the oil and it is getting forced out around the oil seal on the tranny input shaft.

Thanks guys... BTW there is no water in the oil in the crankcase. Or transmission... But its holding the milky oil down where the flywheel is. I can see it picking the oil sup as it spins. Then it spins it out of this inspection hole. Any way to drain that old oil from there? I'm suspecting its not supposed to be there...

Is the inspection hole big enough to get a rubber tube down there... then either by mouth, syringe or shop vac, suck it out???

In the botom of the bell housing there should be a hole with a cotter pin inserted in it. The pin keeps the hole open so the housing can drain.

My old 850 had the cotter pin. I can't find it on this tractor. BTW the serial number is NAA7006B. There are four big bolts on the bottom, bit no cotter pin. You don't think someone could have JB'd it up?

Well I guess it worked all of it out on its own. I just put the old girl to work, and the drip went away after a couple of hours!

This old tractor runs like a champ, lift works, Steers good... Now the only other issue is a leaking axle seal...

Thanks for all the help!

Jim
