I really appreciate all your replies and suggestions. Yesterday, I rounded up all my cattle and walked them down our Private Road, down the County Road, and onto this neighbor's place. His place has had no cattle on it and my grass is hurting with this drought we have. He had plenty of grass and needed an Ag exemption.
The day before, in fact Saturday, I met with this neighbor and went over all your suggestions and ideas. What he's decided to do is just hire somebody to come out and not only dig it down deeper, to the natural clay layer, but at the same time, dig it out bigger too. He figured that he might as well kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. The neighbor right next to him has agreed to leave the gate open between their two places, so my cattle can get to a tank that does hold a lot of water on his place.
