resetting the Sevice beeper on a Mahindra 8560

Hi,

Does anyone know how to reset the service beeper on Mahindra tractors. I have an 8560 and the first time it needed to be reset it was in the shop and they reset it. I know it has to do with putting a fuse in the service fuse block, which I did. After about 10 minutes of running the beeper goes off again and only stops if you shut the tractor off. It did that on the first oil change, but it was going in to the shop for some other work and they then reset it. There is no other indication of why it would be going off other than the hours needed for the oil change. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

While the beeper serves as a service reminder, if it is going off at times other than service, it is indicating a fault of some kind. If it goes off at almost exactly 5 minutes after you start it, it is probably telling you that it is not getting the expected signal from the scavenging pump for the top shaft in the transmission, or some other needed signal. It is best to call your selling dealer and have him check it. It could be a wire knocked off a sensor, a bad sensor, or even low pressure. That is just an example of how it is not just a service beeper, I'm not trying to diagnose a scavenging pump issue from my keyboard!

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like this is something related to what it is doing. However, it doesn't go off every day, but on those days when it does it repeats about 5 minutes after you start the tractor. Do you know where the scavenger pump and it sensor is located? The diagrams in the manual don't show the location. I've talked to the service person at the dealership that now handles Mahindra in my area, but they know less about it than I do. The previous dealer where I bought the tractor no longer works with or services Mahindra. I would hate to have to haul the tractor a 100 miles to a dealership just for a loose connection. I believe it is on the top of the transmission housing above below the floor board. We haven't had to fix one of these scavenging pump issues in years though, so I'm just going from memory. Your dealer can call their regional service rep with specific questions and get good answers for you.
