Restoring a 961 row crop

A friend is restoring a 961 Ford and we can't find a usable paint code for the tin. Can anyone provide that info? The engine and chassis has been sand blasted and painted the appropriate red with Valspar enamel from TSC, but he's trying to obtain a paint code that can be (converted) to automotive "base coat/clear coat" for the durability inherant in this type of coating. Any help would be appreciated :thumbsup:

I'd check with john smith at Smith's Old Ford Tractors or don B at Just 8N's

that or post in the paint and restoration forum at Antique Tractors - Yesterday's Tractors : Antique Tractor Headquarters there are many guys there using various auto paints.. like omni, nason, and some epoxy and urethanes.. etc.

Ah, the 961. I had a chance to buy one a few years ago but couldn't swing the deal. Still looking.

Hope you'll post some photos of the restoration.

I'm looking for one as well. 960 or 961.. heck.. even a 4000 RC 4 cyl NF with a 5spd.. etc.
