Restoring My New MF 135

   / Restoring My New MF 135 #11
Hello Everybody,

I'm new on forum and new in owning a tractor. :)
I live in Poland, Warsaw
Last week I get a birthday present from my wife and friends and it was a Ferguson.
It is in very poor shape as you all see on pictures. I'm 90% sure that it is Ferguson 135 unfortunately I can't find any numbers on engine and tractor number is also missing. I'm waiting for owner's manual, maybe it will help me to find out in which year it whose manufactured.
I hope I will make mechanical restoration in this summer and in the winter I will make it look like new. :)

Photos bellow.

Pawel

Welcome to TBN. Join the fun.

I found the serial number for my MF135 diesel on the right side of the battery tray. You have to remove the air filter canister to see it.

Good luck.

I found the serial number plate under several lays of paint. Is says 135 416901 M. I whose looking in internet to find more about it and it say that my Ferguson is from 1972 but I don't know what is the M? In mf35 serial numbers it means the double clutch.
I started to restore the seat. It is a deserter. Someone welded the hinge to the lower bracket and the seat pan need repair. I will they to save lower bracket and seat pan but will need new hinge.

In differential I found 1 liter of clean oil but that whose all. 25 liter where missing.

I will flush it with 20L of diesel and then put new oil( ATF). I wonder how long it whose running without oil. :-(

More photos and information soon.

After last drop of diesel came out I decided to open PTO cover to see what is inside.
Good news is that it seems that everything is on its place but there is still diesel left in it. Today I will clean it use compress air to get it out of differential and put new oil. Below some new photos.

I didn't saw that yesterday but now as I look at those picture I thing that pipe connecting pomp and cover is missing?
If you see anything else please let me know.

All the pipes are on the other side, and you mention ATF oil? as in automatic transmission oil? don't even think about it.
Tractor universal oil or pure mineral motor oil 10/30 ot 10/40 works good.

Thank you for answer.
I took of hydraulic selector valve (the one under the seat) and the pipe is there.
Finally I used universal tractor oil that is for gearbox and hydraulic use. It is recommended for MF235 that is very similar tractor to 135.
Unfortunately pomp is not pumping oil. I didn't have time to check why, maybe today I will have some time.
I will try to open the PTO cover and the other one opposite side and I will make some photos. If I won't find anything I will remove top lift cover. It looks heave and I will try to avoid that.

The universal tractor fluid should be fine, never had any problems using it. You have to remember oil(s) has come a very long way since these tractors were built.

Yesterday I take off the hydraulic respond cover and make photos.

I started to make a tool for taking off lift cover. Pleas let me know if you see something wrong. I will put more photos when I take off the lift cover.

I followed the link to your facebook page, the engine sounds good.
Looking at the gearbox photos, the gears show only a very small bit of rust just starting ,so I think the gear box was not out of oil for very long before you got the tractor. Good luck.
