If there was a demand for Montana tractor items, I'm sure Montana would be equally happy to oblige - however, as evidenced by the dearth of Montana branded memorabilia - that demand does not exist....

Actually, they have a pretty nice collection of clothing with t-shirts, polo shirts, jackets, and three different hats including a mossy oak one. I haven't got to the point of stocking clothing and I'm sure a lot of dealers are guilty of this too. They also have soft coolers, folding chairs, ice scrapers, key fobs, first aid kits, and a few other small items but what they have that I really like to sell are feature packed high quality tractors.

Hey guys lets not get too serious this was made as a tongue in cheek post just to get a little bit of levity going. I am in some posts that are pretty serious and I wanted to just have a bit of fun here.

Could not agree more!

See montanaman that is exactly what I am talking about. If I had bought a John Deere I would not have a better tractor but I could go to walmart and buy the john deere plates and electric kids tractor. I can go to other places and get the clothes and the clocks and other stuff. With my montana I would have to find someone that sells that stuff and then go to them and buy it. They probably would not discount it like walmart does.

I agree and the 3K or 4K or more saved could buy lots of those trinkets. I have several JD licensed products made in China as my friends think its funny for my bday or Christmas to get me a mug or shirt so maybe I will make money two ways. Selling tractors against JD and then selling the JD shirts and mugs on Ebay.

Nah, they are gifts but boy it is tempting all the ways JD can make money for me.

Heh Gemini5362:

You know with the Montana you're half way there......it's green too....
All you have to do now is change the lettering on the stuff you buy to white and you're away to the races.

Besides who wants a tractor that runs like a deere but smells like a JOHN!!!!.

I love my Montana even though its Blue not Green......

Glenn.

Much like Harley Davidson, John Deere has a following far beyond tractor owners because of the company's links to American history...

I have yet to see anyone tattoo a John Deere logo on their body.

Curly dave you are correct they do have a large following. I am just amazed to see the variety of different products that have the logo. I am starting to get convinced there are more stuff with John Deere on it than Harley Davidson. I saw JD safety glasses the other day. JD sunglasses. It is just a huge list.

I just don't understand why other compaies aren't jumping on board with Deere. Why on earth would you not want people to pay you to advertise for you? I think Mahindra is finally realizing this and working on some stuff. Hopefully others will follow. I gotta admit it's the biggest thing I regret about not buying a Deere.
As for the tattoo comment, I'm not so sure! I saw a girl the other day with a John Deere belly button ring and a Deere tongue ring. Not exactly my type, but hey it takes all types to make the world go round.
