It depends what you are cutting it with. The best lube for rubber in many cases is soapy water. Sometimes lube can work against you. If you are using a saw the lube will cause the saw to get pinched. We make conveyors were I work. Several hundred miles of conveyor every year. We cut all the conveyor belt with utility knives with no lube. These are thin belts. 3/16" or less in thickness.
