Does anyone have any experience with retractable screen doors?

I have 2 sets of Andersen double French doors on the front of my house. I also have Andersen hinged screen doors which are absolute cr@p. I am considering replacing the hinged screen doors with retractable screen doors. (I don't want to get sliding screen doors)

My sister has one. If it were mine I would have ripped it out a long time ago. If I knew what brand it is I would post it, but I don’t. Sorry.

Larsen makes a decent screen door.

My experience is with an aftermarket one. Concept is nice. Takes up a lot of space in the door frame so if your door is narrower you will bump into it a lot. Tracking can be an issue but its never failed to fully open or close with a couple of tries. People unfamiliar with your door will have troubles with it. Easy enough to install. Sorry I dont have a brand name for you, had it for 10+ years.

If you have dogs/cats may be an issue to replace the screens. I also have double French doors with a single sliding screen door. These are the easiest to open and close and replacement of screens is easier.

I would only consider buying another one if it came factory made with the door and was easier to operate. My preference is the sliding screen door on the French doors.

We had a single on a room that was off the garage. We had no operational issues with it. That being said, I probably wouldn't use one on a door that had heavy use.
