Retrofit spin on hydraulic filter?

Is it possible to retrofit a spin on hydraulic filter to tractors that only came with the screen filter? Is it worthwhile?

It sure is possible
Northern hydraulics sells a kit with filter to do it.
I put one on my wood spliter It was easy plumbing too.
just make sure that the filter has enough volume to handle
the demand, you install it on the return line (the 1" line)
It worked for me!

If you use hose to make the connections, it is actually 7/8". I had to order 3' just to get a 4" piece to repair the original hose that leaked.

Use a Spin on screen instead of a spin on media filter. Less cavitation and your pump will live longer.
