Rev TEK reverse switch

Hi all, I currently have an early 90's model Cub 1720 Hydro lawn tractor, and in the market for buying a New 1050 Cub.. The only thing that scares me is the Rev TEK, and Reverse Caution mode switches.. Just what is Rev TEK, how does it work, and the reverse caution mode? My old 1720 Had a switch that I bypassed to mow in reverse. The New one has selection on the key switch and a button you depress to mow in reverse.. Seems kinda aggravating being as i have a lot of trees to mow around. Any information on these two things would be helpful, and if any of you have bypassed these things, how did you do it.. Thank you!

All it is is an override switch that allows you to mow in revers. It is very simple to operate and it is a welcome new feature. You have to reset it every time you mow but it takes maybe one second to set. I wouldn't let this feature scare me off.

It's no sweat once you get used to setting it. (I'm still used to the OLD school LT/GT's!!). Once she's started, you rotate the ignition key one click to the left & press the yellow button. A bright LED lights up & you can now mow in reverse all day long. Like Gamble says, if you s/d the tractor, or trip the seat switch, you'll have to remember to to reset the REV TEK again. I still forget to do it 50% of the time. I get reminded REAL quick the first time I mash the reverse pedal.
