After a recent post it occurred to me that if there were a reverse flow fan available for the engine, on the BX you could get nice warm air blown on you in the winter. I have a cab with an open back so it would be ideal.

I have a generator with the same basic 3 cylinder Kubota engine, and it blows in reverse compared to the BX. I will have to see if it is the same size and attachment. If so it may be available as a spare part and do the trick.

Kubota makes such a fan that fits the BX's the part number is 15971-74110. I have one and it takes about an hour to change it from the original. I don't have a cab on my bx but at -40c every little bit helps I also replaced the original thermostat to a 195 degree one for the winter, I don't know what the original one was but for the winter it just wasn't enough and at our somewhat less than tropical Manitoba winters the temp gage wouldn't even move up to operating temp and I like an engine to run warm, not hot but warm.

What I do know is that with a cab on the bx and the fan reversed the temp inside would be comfy and light jacketed. I did have to put a blast gate in back of the battery as it was getting too much heat but that was no big deal.
