Tiller Reverse Rotation Rear Tine Tillers??

The project was an experiment with refurbishing a lawn and correcting some landscaping errors from the previous owner. We tilled deep enough on first pass to break all the sod loose. We used the FEL to remove the sod and grade the front of house so that water would drain away from the foundation. All this excess dirt and sod was put in a berm near the street. This project was tilled twice to get the finish you see in the picture. Just passed the tractor in the picture you can see some of the sod. Also note the ground in front of tractor has already been tilled.

One mistake we made was tilling to deep on that last run. The next weekend it rained very hard. My son almost got the tractor stuck in the soft soil and made a mess out of that area of the new landscape. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif He had to clean up the mess with by hand. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I plan on redoing my 2 acre lawn next year. My neighbor needs the same thing. We plan on renting a powered landscape rake to do this job. Reading the threads on the Harley powered rake has convinced me that is the best tool for the job.

I have a rotadairon on my TC33D. It tills in reverse, screens out the rocks and debris, grades and rolls. One pass on turf gives a perfect seed bed. The reverse rotation really chews through the soil.
