Got my 6' BB delivered today from TSC-brand is "Farm Force", thought I was getting KK but it seems basically the same. The problem is the way in which the lift bracing was bolted together made the lift pins too wide for the arms on my TC29. So I struggled to get the big bolts loose and rebuild it to make the pins more 'standard'. Still had difficulty with the lift arms-tires get in the way even though I've got extendable arms. So I took the lift pins out and reversed them so they are inside the frame. Got everything hooked up and seems to work ok. Is this kosher?

Related is the HF quick hitch that so far is not helping even though I used a jack to widen the lift arms-they were too narrow( top pin is the problem now and plan on welding up some fix)

Thanks for your thoughts.

TractorDale:

I reversed the lower lift pins on attachments for my old Ford 1100 and had no problems. Actually it made attaching the attachments easier :D! Jay

P.S. I would like to know how your "29" pulls your 6' BB. Jay

Reversing the lift pins won't hurt anything. I am not sure why your TC29 lift arms don't go wide enough. I have a Case-IH DX 29 and it works fine with quick hitch or cat I implements. I do have my tires set to the wider spacing and maybe that is the difference. You can switch the rear tires and gain a little more width and stability.
The TSC BB is probably not Cat I standard. HF does make an adapter for the quick hitch which is what I use most of the time. The adapter replaces the hook and costs about $8-9.

I know the arms on my TC33 are very tight when i was hooking up my new BB this past weekend, had i been off center by more than an inch i would not have been able to get both arms spred far enough to get them on the pins....

so far my BB is the only attachment i seem to have this issue on.

It's OK to reverse the lift pins.
My 3pt backhoe came with lift pins that were both Cat 1 on one end and Cat 2 on the other. They were bolted to the backhoe with the Cat one size facing inward and the Cat 2 size facing outward.

Thanks folks. Jay- I am asking a lot from my turf tires if the bite is too big, otherwise it gets the job done.

Dale,

"I used a jack to widen the lift arms"

I had the same problem with a speeco hitch, and actually had the torch in my hand to start cutting when I came up with you same idea. Still on the small side, but so far has worked slick. I might get a jack in there one more time just to see if I can gain another 1/4 - 1/2 inch.
