i was wondering if anyone on here has seen someone reverse the direction a garden tractor opperates. i have a blower mounted on the front of my MTD and was thinking it would be nice if i could reverse the entire tractor so the back large axel became the front and then put the blower on the rear of the machine.

Look for a gear lever labeled with an "R".

Just kidding..

I knew a guy that mounted an engine with a front shaft and a back shaft to a lawn tractor.

When he finished the tractor, he had 3 speeds in reverse and one speed fwd.

He used the wrong shaft to run the drive line. One shaft turns clockwise, and the other shaft turns counter clockwise.

ON small engines, engine rotation is clockwise on the flywheel end. Rope pull end.

PTO side is the business end and the rotation is Counter-Clockwise

I have a Kubota 50" blower that turns the wrong way front mounted which would work on the back correctly. A drive shaft, knuckle and your in the snow business.

My JD f-935 is a reversed tractor. I think it may be a 318 chassis in reverse. With a hydrostatic, that could be easily done.

If you sit on the hood, and reach down so over the steering wheel (so that you grab the bottom part of the wheel), you can drive and steer normally. All you need to do is build linkages so you can operate the pedals and controls.

I have a 3pt 6' blower on my Kubota L4200 - I'm dying to try to drive it that way.

that is what i would like to do to my MTD it is sort of a poor mans hydro with a variable speed pully instesad of a hydro... just thought there might be someone on here who has done something like that that could help me out with the steering linkage and stuff like that.

I had a Craftsman here for years that I ran in revers with a bucket on the back. I used it on my landscaping jobs that the skid steer couldnt fit on. I just got a littl longer belt and put a twist in it. It worked pretty good a belt lasted a few months.

Kubota's F series mowers are essentially the BX "turned around". Enough time, money and imagination? Most things are possible.
