I have a 48" BigBee finish mower. When I was turning I hit a stump. Now the mower is locked up. I disconnected the pto shaft and the pto on the tractor still works. I tried to turn the pto shaft by hand but will not turn at all. I looked under the deck of the mower did not see anything out of the normal. How do I check the gear box.

If nothing is blocking the blades, chances are you have one or more broken teeth in the gearbox. You can open it up and look.

I bought a 60 incher used but it needs some new pulleys.
I have no idea where to get these at.
It cuts great and I really like it. But it could use some paint.

I have not had to buy any parts yet. But I did buy a new one after my old BigBee 48's deck rusted out. I got it from a local JD dealer for $850.

I can get belts no problem. I replace it about once a year.

The big main pulley on the bottom of the gear box is worn real bad.
The edges of the pulley V are sharp.
And some of the idler pulleys have some play in them.

Spindles and pulleys and everything else in good condition.
I bought it used for $250 from a neighbor. Does a great job mowing.
Needs sanded down real good and repainted.
Doesn't have any decals or numbers on it that I can see.

This thing sure is loud when your sitting on the tractor mowing.
If someone else is mowing I don't hear as much noise.
But if I'm on the tractor mowing It is LOUD.

I was told it originally came from the Co-Op up the valley.
Thought about taking it up there and seeing if they can ID it.
