Hi,
Lost a coupling nut off my 3-pt sway link. :(

specs: M12x1.75 RH/LH thread 80mm long
(Alternative would be 1/2" 14tpi 3.5" long)

Anyone know where to find one for a reasonable price? (around $5-$7)

See if there is a Fastenal biz around there.. if not, get a grade 8 1/2" bolt and use a lock nut with nylon insert.

Not sure where your going to get a 1/2"x 14 since that is one tpi over standard. Plenty of 1/2"x 13 around if it is just a typo.

sandman2234 - Unfortunately it's not a typo. The 1.75 metric pitch is an almost perfect match for 14 tpi.
Of course, just because I can do the math & calculate out the SAE equivalent size doesn't mean it exists.

Can't you just stop by your Mahindra dealer and pick one of these up? I don't imagine it'll be $7 but it's something they should have in stock.

If you or a buddy welds, you could make one like the adjusters on my old Kubota B6100. Two nuts of the appropriate size and thread held together by two metal straps of the right length. Would be easier to do if they were square nuts.

I'm pretty sure the right nut or bolt could be purchased from a good fastener supplier. When I worked at a shop, we had a massive inventory of both SAE and Metric bolts and nuts that we purchased at an auction on pallets. Somebody else purchased the cabinets without the inventory. I don't know why anyone would separate those at an auction, but I guess they had two lots to sell instead of one. I got the job of separating them and putting them in our bin storage, a job I did not enjoy. Luckily most of them were still in bags.

Thanks all,
Yes, the local dealer has them in stock but the $25 each price seems a bit steep. I know it's out in the back yard (~1/2 acre) somewhere because it was there when I started working that day. I used a friends metal detector to scan the area but came up empty. Maybe it rolled under a bush. :(
I suppose I've spent more than $25 of my time & effort trying to find another source. *sigh*

Sounds to me it is a 12mm x 1.75mm Metric Thread.
That is a common Metric and you should be able to get that.
The 1/2" is a little big and the 14 is 1/2 thread off.
