I bought a Rhino 224 tractor , I then ran it out of deisel.
In the manual it says to purge motor every 6 month ,Plus a guy told me also when it is ran out of fuel.
So how do I purge this tractor?
I'm no mechanic (I do carpentry) So please explain in great detail Please.

Might be apples and oranges here. "Purge engine" may not be the same thing as "purge fuel system".

Understand that these manuals are pretty much literal translations from the Chinese versions. I'm going to venture a guess that "purge engine" means change oil

Or are you looking for instructions on how to purge the fuel system? If so, that's the priming/bleeding process. It's not a part of regular maintenance, only required if/when you run the engine out of fuel.

But if you've already got it started again - I dare say you'll likely pay closer attention to the fuel gauge in the future.

Thanks Greg.
Yes I think they mean oil too. Any way I did run it iut of fuel and have not ran it much because it always cuts out now.
Just as the tractor gets going it looses power, then have to play with pedal for a bit then it runs good for 10 sec then loses power again. So I guess I need to bleed fuel system but how to do that. I know where the fuel filter is .Thats about it.
Thanks for all the help Greg. Wish you were here.LOL

I don't know the Rhino 224, but bleeding a diesel is bleeding a diesel. Others with more tractor-specific knowledge can chime in with where the specific components are. But basically you have a fuel pump (low pressure) and an injection pump (high pressure), a fuel filter, and a little primer pump (manual hand pump) . The primer pump has a round top about the size of a 50 cent piece, and a light duty spring around the shaft. The top and shaft are usually screwed down into the pump body, so rotate it counterclockwise first to release.

First make sure the fuel filter itself is full of fuel. Then bleed the LP side, just loosen a flexible fuel line at the input to the injection pump - then use the primer pump to push any air out. When you've got a good flow of gasoline by hand, tighten that fitting and move on to the HP side.

Between the injection pump and the fuel injectors are generally hard lines with compression fittings on either end. Loosen the top fittings, then crank the engine over with the starter. You'll see bubbles at first, then fuel. Tighten the compression fitings successively, as they stop bubbles and start fuel flow.

Fuel system is "purged", tractor may already be running by now.
