Rhino CY72

I found a used (looks to be in good shape) Rhino CY72 cutter for $1,700.00. I am pretty sure I can talk him down a little though.

I can get a new 272 for 1900 so I am trying to decide if the CY72 is worth the extra cash.

What do you guys think?

2 1/2 inch cutting capacity, requires (?) 45 HP 130 HP gearbox weighs 1158 pounds. $1900

CY72...
4 inch cutting capacity, requires (??)40 HP, 150 HP gearbox, weighs 1338 pounds. $1700

Are you sure you have your $$$ correct? If so, I'm pretty sure I would go with the CY72. Cheaper and a higher capacity machine.

Yes I know it is a better unit, but it is used. Just trying to figure out how much should be taken off for a used unit.

One thing I discovered...
The blade speed on the 272 is higher (16,286 fpm) vs the CY72 ((13,996 fpm)

I understand it may make a difference in the quality of cut on lighter material.
Now, your selection also depends somewhat on what you want to cut.

I thought I would just confuse the matter a bit more.

What does a new CY72 cost just for the sake of comparison?

I was told a CY72 would run 3200. Seemed high!

I have lots of brush to cut up front then keep the weeds under control.

a quote I got an hour or so ago from a Texas dealer

CY72 $3775
272 $2550

they both seem high to me.

Those are high! My quote was from Kubota dealer in Conroe, Tx. Allied Powermart

I was just calling around and googling because I didn't have anything else to do.
