I'm new to tractors and I've had an interesting day. I bought a Ford 3910 on Friday, it only had 2100 hrs on it so I figured I'd go with it since everything seemed to work. (I didn't check the headlights) :)
1st a starter wire came off, no big deal except I turned on the headlights to see if I had power.
The dead short in the headlight harness showed it's ugly head pretty quickly so I had to repair some burned wiring before I could go any further.
I finally got to bush hog a few hours before it threw the blade pan. Does anyone know what size the castle nut for the gearbox shaft is? Nothing else seems to be damaged and the threads look ok but I can't find size and thread pitch for the nut.
Thanks in advance for your help.

If you can find the part # (nut) on a parts diagram the size and pitch may be listed in the index detail...

I have that cutter but have no idea as to nut size. Sorry. Hopefully you'll figure it out.

I use my 3910 almost daily great tractor. Don't give up on it. You'll get the bugs worked out. :)

I'm actually pretty happy with the tractor, just normal hiccups for now I guess. I gave up on the Ford 3000 that was inherited from my father-in-law, it was a mess lol. I may fix it later but that's another story.
I haven't found anything online that tells the size of the nut and nobody local carries Rhino.
I hope to order one online and have it soon.

I ended up taking the gearbox with me to Bolt and Tool Supply in Hickory. The size is 1"x14 for future reference. :)

Thanks for the update. That's a standard coarse thread nut. Did you get a locknut?

They had a castle nut in stock, I was surprised to get one. It cost $7 with tax. Online was going to be nearly $50 with shipping for a factory nut.

Use a strong cotter pin.
