Rhubarb and Strawberries

Good Afternoon Guys,
Just made up my first batch this afternoon, cant wait till tommorrow mornin to try them out !

1 1/2 lb rhubarb

3/4 cup water

boil until tender

1 container of strawberries/ sliced

simmer

add plenty of sugar

chill

Enjoy ! Grandma used to make this for me many years ago along with rhubarb pie ! Yum !

I planted 2 rhubarb plants last spring. I didn't harvest any last year. This year 1 plant is doing great and the other is just ok. Just a couple weeks ago we picked enough for 1 pie. My grandma used to make rhubarb pies for me when she was around. I got her recipe from a cousin and my wife made me a pie. It was delicious and brought back great memories.

We've got rhubarb and strawberries fresh in the garden right now. My wife has been making rhubarb straawberry cobbler kinda thing. Outa this world

Good Morning Scotty

I am expecting fresh strawberries here in the next couple of weeks. I transplanted a good sized rhubarb plant in my new garden this year. I wonder if it would be ok to harvest from it? They seem to be pretty hardy plants and this one is doing very well. I'll do some reading on the subject and decide.
Sure am looking forward to som strawberry/rhubarb pie

Had rhubarb and strawberry pie/cobbler last week. We have several rhubarb plant and plan to start several more. We have another farm we have rented to the same person for years, he has about 5 ac of it in strawberries so we get our strawberries for free. Wife has froze about 7 gallons so far. We will get a few more gallons before they play out around mid-June.
