Anyone else have an issue like this? I have been fighting the main drive belt ever since I got this machine.
I ordered a new main drive belt for the Husky. The factory belt was 82" and it would last about half a season before it would slip from stretch. So I got a Gates green belt that was 81" long two years ago and now it has stretched out to where I need to pull back on the clutch pedal if I am climbing a hill to keep it going. I will put in a 80" Gates green belt on this time and that should do it. This belt drives the power to the Hydo trans and I almost never use the clutch pedal to stop the mower because I drive it off the forward and reverse lever but I think there will still be enough to stop it even with this shorter belt because there is so much travel on the idler when you push in the pedal. We shall see.
