Got the canopy on. (added rubber at each U-bolt to allow better grip and less tendency for the lid to move)

Haven't filled the tires yet, no matter because I'm heading over to grandpa's little 5 acre field to test the bush-hog out. Headlights worked great afterall! At least for mowing they did.

Kinda hate breaking it in mowing though. Too much constant RPM. Do you guys concur?

Welcome to TBN and nice tractor and pickup. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

What's the bucket going to hit should the FEL drop? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Lastly, please do not post inline pictures larger than 640 x 480 as it forces people to scroll left/right to see the entire picture. Also keep in mind that people who connect via modem probably do not appreciate having to wait for inline pictures to download.

P.S.
I downloaded the pictures, resized them to 640 x 480 and posted them.

Nice rig Snakebit.

As far as breaking it in with a mower, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I had a mower on mine when I started it for the first time. Just stay on the lower side of the 540 RPM's and then change to the higher side and switch back and forth. I was told on any engine it is more important to change your RPM's every so often.

ps: I think what Mike is telling you is to just have the attachments attached instead of pasted in the post. That way the ones that what to see the pic can.

If the FEL dropped, it wouldn't contact the truck, if that is what you are wondering. That is if I was not turning. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
This was just my second haul and I was trying to watch the tounge weight and see how she pulled.

As for posting the pics the way I did, sorry for the screw up. I did read all the rules and the only thing I found was the suggestion to keep the file size down. I was able to post them at 800X640 and meet that suggestion. I also made the wrong assumption that the reason most posts used the "attachment" method was it is easier AND many did not have a webserver to "park" their files on. And finnally, I would hate to scroll right/left as much as anyone, and thought that size was inside that threshhold. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I'll behave for now on. I realize I joined a party in progress and don't want to barge in and make a bad impression.

Thanks thcri on the advice for break-in. I'll do just that. I'm sure many thousands of tractors have spent many thousands of hours in a small variance of RPM. I'm just gonna sit up there on that shady perch with a big grin and enjoy it!

Hey Snake,

Can you tell us more about that trailer. Your setup is very close to mine with the 6' Rhino SE. With the tractor, FEL, and Rhino, you're at around 6K lbs. If the trailer is rated for 7K and probably weighs 1K itself, I think you're close to overloading that trailer. I'm the guy that bought the 14K trailer for my setup and have to haul with the lowly F150. Sure wish I had your tow vehicle!

Thanks,

You nailed it.

Trailer is maxxed out for sure in weight and length.
I have no intentions of using this setup for any more than trailering down a rural road to my property. About 15 miles back roads.

Biggest issue is with that FEL, I have to keep the tractor back a few feet from the front of the trailer to keep the tounge weight down. Rhino hangs out a lot more than I planned. Even with that Ranch Hand bumper and plenty of F350 diesel power and suspension, thats more than I would want to pack hanging off a ball at Interstate speeds.

Just couldn't justify new fifth wheel for a 6 month situation. (House will be done and tractor will have a new barn.)

By the way, this is a very stout 7000 lb trailer. Looked hard to find something that was more than just rated for it's axles. Should have paid extra for a pair of 5000 lb.ers

Just noticed your trailer pic.

Yea, that's the right rig for our similar setups. Very nice. Feeling regrets for sure.

Bet it still feels like a load back there though.

Can you put your brush hog in front, not connected to the tractor and then put your tractor on and let the laoder hang over the brush hog? Just might give you the right weight on the tongue and double up some of the space your using on the trailer.

Snakebit, I think your trailer is okay for weight as long as your rear tires aren't loaded. Did you get them filled? I haul my TC45D with loader and rotary cutter on my 18' trailer rated at 7000 lb, but I've never loaded my tires. Your tractor and loader weigh-in at about 4250 lb. I don't think your mower is heavy enough to get you over 5000 lb. I'm guessing your trailer is about 1500 lb. You sure want good tires on that trailer and I'd say they need to have 45 psi as a minimum.
