I have a 2005 2500HD Crew Cab 6.0L gas truck. I have a JD 5210 with load tires and loader weight is around 8,100 pounds. What I would like input on is the attached picture of a 20 foot X 8 foot 2004 Econoline trailer dual axles (GVWR is 10,000 and weight of trailer is 2,500 pounds) with dual wheels (8 tires) the right trailer to safely tow my JD and is my truck big enough?

The person is asking $2,000 is that a fair price and what do you think of trailer? Please feel free to give any negative feedback.

Thanks in advance for your help on this.

My opinion is you have enough truck to pull your tractor on a trailer. GVWR of trailer is 10K minus 2500 weight is 7500 for trailer load. Even if you consider 10% weight transfer from tongue to truck the trailer you are looking at would be maxed out. I think you should consider at least a 12-14K trailer for safely hauling your tractor.

I agree with the poster above. I had an Econoline 7ton tilt. Some people bash their trailes as being junk however every person who borrowed my trailer bitched at how heavy it was lol. Go figure. I don't like those 5 ton trailers because if i remember right the wheels are split by the frame rail. Its not a dually set up like on a normal tag trailer or dually. One tire is on the out side of the frame rail and the other on the inside. I can only imagine what a pain it would be to change one of those inside tires on the side of the road. I guess it depend hon how far you go or how often you use it.

They are well made trailers in my opinion though.

It's not enough trailer. Your truck is marginal but short distance a few times a year you would be ok.

Yep.

I would suggest a 14K gooseneck. That way, you can carry the tractor, with an implement attached, and still be safe.
