Ring and pinion gear

Hello,

I've got quite a problem with my Yanmar minitractor, lately I lacked traction when using the plough. I thought it was the clutch, however when examining the rear axle, I saw that the ring and pinion gear are seriously worn. I have been contacting dealers in Belgium and Holland (where i'm from), however the major problem is that it is a F16D and this is a grey market tractor in Europe. Do you guys have an idea if there are any compatible tractor models that have the same ring and pinion gear? Maybe the F165 (which has similar power and is from the same time range? +- 1983-1986).

You need to get a parts dealer to give you the correct part number. Searching by part number will combine any models that share that number. I know the F20 through F24 share the same ring and pinion and it is available but I doubt it is the same as the F16. Does seriously worn mean teeth missing. By loosing traction either bolts are sheared or teeth missing?

In Belgium, there are no parts dealers, sadly. I have been searching for the part number but cannot find it.

Yes, some teeth are missing (only the bottom part of the teeth are still there).
The only thing I have at this moment is the dimensions of both gears.

Isnt that the tractor or tractor series that there are no gears to be had? I think you need to find a doner tractor. One may have to be sourced from asia so you may need a person who knows how to procure that sort of thing.

I would try Hoye first of course, they are experts. Also maybe fredericks in alabama. Shipping would be killer from the US but at least if its here you could have it!!!

I can't really help other than to post a couple of links European parts sellers I've come across. Maybe if you email them they could offer some advice? Hope you get it sorted out.

I also have a Yanmar F16D with a bad ring and pinion gear. What a education looking for those parts. I even found one salvage yard that wanted $1,275.00 used . yes I did tell them where to go. NOW for the good news .Southern Global tractor 601-928-7491 can order the ring and pinion gear from Japan shipped for $ 850.00 to your door . it takes two to three weeks. OEM parts # 194193-31390 ---- $800.00 plus $50 shipping.
I E-Mailed and called many tractor places that deal with gray market tractors in the USA and Canada and only Global responded yes.
it is well worth it to repair the tractor being a 4X4 for that price
