A little bit of a side track for the tractor forums, but I know many of you dabble in all forms of rural living, so I'm hoping someone can help. I'm looking for anyone who has a Ripsaw. If you are within driving distance, that would be even better, so I could see it work.
For those of you who have never seen one, a Ripsaw Ripsaw portable sawmills - welcome is a portable sawmill driven by a chainsaw head. Last fall a friend dropped one off that was found when cleaning out his father's barn. It hadn't been used in years, and it had seen very limited use because they could never get it to work well. I know I'm missing a few pieces, like the drive sprocket that goes on the powerhead. I also questioned my friend, and he said he didn't remember having any guide beams which the site shows. This unit is probably 15 or so years old. Maybe they weren't always included?
I've looked at what I could find online about them, but if a picture is worth a thousand words, seeing one live is worth a thousand pictures. i'd love to be able to have someone who has used one hook up to this one and help me get it adjusted and working.
