New RK37 owner and when using RK37 Hydrostat in reverse, it seems when you press down on reverse pedal, it takes a while for tractor to get moving. But when you press the forward pedal, the tractor immediately responds. In other words, reverse pedal is way less responsive than forward pedal. Is this normal? Thanks for all help.

I think I'm having the opposite problem with my RK24H. It's more responsive in reverse than forward. When I first bought it they were identical. I have just over 100hrs on it. I'm wondering if a cable stretched or some adjustment moved or something.

I have a 55 hydro but it ought to be pretty close. The reverse pedal is a little less sensitive (by design I'm sure) but it doesn't take long for it to go back or switch directions unless the hydro mode switch is set to the least sensitivity. Not sure if the 37 has a mode switch, but if so try it in all the positions and see if it behaves differently. I end up changing the mode pretty frequently depending on the work I'm doing.

I have the RK 55. The first thing I noticed was that both forward and reverse have a slight delay when the pedal is first pressed. Mine seem to be equal though. I have a Kubota B3000 with hydro and it's response is almost instant. What I have found is that the Kubota has a linkage that goes straight into the transmission so I believe the pedal is moving the hydro mechanically. The RK 55 pedals go to rheostats and they in turn control servo valves in the transmission. This is how the RK 55 can have different modes of response. It probably comes down to a factory setting or built in response time. It sort of annoyed me when I first got the tractor because I was used to something different but I seem to have gotten used to it. It may just be that the rest of the tractor is so awesome.

From my experience this is normal on the RK37. If you are still questioning it though, into your local store and drive one on the lot to compare.

Does it do it when using auto throttle and when using manual throttle? If just auto throttle might need to adjust cable for reverse pedal. Just a thought.

My 37 HST responds the same way. Just picked it up last Friday and only have 8.5 hours on it. I've only run it in auto throttle so far.
