About to pull the trigger on a grading scraper. The primary use will be maintaining my existing 1000' farm road and leveling / grading around my barns and sheds. I also have a 200'+ gravel driveway to my house. After a lot of research, it looks like the RoadRunner may win out. It is not the cheapest, but appears to be a quality implement designed to last and has a (60) day return policy (customer pays freight) in the event I am not satisfied. The (2) models I am interested in are both 8' wide. The CH model weighs 1350#, 66" long, 17" tall side pans and priced at $2500 + freight. The BH model weighs 1560#, 72" long, 20" tall side pans and priced at $3,000 + freight. I am leaning toward the CH model since it weighs 1350# and is $500 cheaper.
I have also priced the following brands:
8' Grademaster Industrial, 1225#, $2,500 + freight.
8' RoadBoss, $3,550 delivered.
8' Landpride GS2596, 864# with scarifiers, $2,200.
8' Woods GSM96, 800# with scarifiers, $1,700. I emailed Woods and told them my tractor was 98 engine HP. Their response in so many words was they would not honor the warranty since the implement was only designed for tractors up to 65 engine HP. They recommended I get one of their Gannon box scrapers.
I have searched the threads but have not found many RoadRunner owners posting comments. I am cautious about spending $2,500+ on this type of implement, but the present condition of my farm road demands attention. I appreciate any comments and hopefully will gain some valuable knowledge.
