Yesterday on my B7500 I had a problem closing my hood. It appears that something has moved. Either the fuel cap/tank has moved or the hood has somehow changed its adjustment. Has anyone else come across this problem? If so, what did you do to fix it?

Have you had the hood off? Removed the fuel tank? Wrecked your 'Bota? Have you twisted/stressed the frame or hood?
The hole has a lot of room around the fuel cap.

Nope, haven't done any work to the tractor....it only has 30 problem free hours on it. Can't really say about stressing the frame other than if I did, I wasn't aware of it. Now I'm trying to access my crappy memory but I'm pretty sure that my cap came slightly off center when new, forward and to the left. I went down this morning and checked the loose hinge thought but it appears that it is only normal flexing of however it is attached. Can't really see in there too well. Again, the seam at the rear of the hood is perfect and uniformed. Oh well, vacation starts tomorrow so I'll have 10 days to think about what to do./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Jeff,

I realize you have an old post and may have solved your problem by now, but just in case......... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
I am a new owner of a B7500. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I intend to write a new post detailing my problem but yours may be the same. The problem was that the fuel cap was not venting. This caused the fuel tank to distort and the fuel inlet move from it's centered position. Before I realized the real problem I had to open the hood to remove the fuel cap. Other signs of this problem were hard starting and lack of power under heavy load conditions.

I took a look at the fuel cap and I don't see any way for it to vent. There's a hole in the rubber piece under the cap but no way for the air to escape through the cap that I can see. Are you saying there should be one? I also haven't experienced either of the other two problems you describe and the position of the tank has not gotten any worse since I started this thread.
